The first annual Black Music Month Monets' are moments designed to bring together music and arts lovers of all kinds for diverse musical theater experiences.
Black Music Month Monets' invite you in to explore and enjoy the history and culture of Black Music and its pioneers. All proceeds from Black Music Month Monets' go to support the CITY ARTS Foundation Day Camps which provide academic enrichment through hands-on arts experiences to urban school age youth and children of Washington State.

Tacoma's Theater District
The Evolution of Gospel Music, takes you back to where it all began- and explores this "root music" featuring legendary moments in the evolution of the genre. The play depicts the contributions of some of musics greatest pioneers and the fusion of gospel into Jazz, Blues, Soul, R&B, and Hip Hop. Witness first-hand the birth of historical pieces such as Amazing Grace, and the transition of legendary writers like Thomas A. Dorsey, and singers like Shirley Ceasar and many others. A intriguing, educational and entertaining musical play directed by the spirited Neal Jones- it is by far the most complete dramatized history of this foundational music genre. Period music, acting, dance and captivating narrative- it honors the influential sound of gospel, it's extrordinary energy, and its deep rooted soul. Truly a theatrical journey- witness the shaping of the music, the movement, the people, and the culture. The cuisine of this fine Southern restaurant with a Touch of Africa will make your taste buds dance! You'll enjoy the warm environment, live music, and appetizing menu. Dinner Theater Packages- Purchase this package and you can enjoy a tasty soul food dinner at Thad Martin's Djembe Soul restaurant before you see the show! We have teamed up with Thad Martin to give you a memorable night out on the town! Located just one block from the Theater, you'll also enjoy the ambiance of the square, and are invited back to Thad Martin's afterward to enjoy light hourdourves, and meet the cast!
Cost: $65 per person. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Evening Only

Father's Day Gospel Brunch This special day deserves a special deal, treat dad right- Once again, we have partnered with Thad Martin's Djembe Soul to put together a appetizing brunch for that special father in your life. This Sunday Brunch deal allows you to enjoy bruch and a theater ticket for the matinee show. This is one that is not to be missed!
Sunday Only Brunch served 1-4PM, Show starts at 4:00PM.
Cost: $50 per person
VIP Limited Reserve For those late nighters, your purchase of a VIP Ticket includes one of the best seats in the house, corporate goodies, and a inviteation to the Meet the Cast Party at Djembe Soul, where you will taste, tantilizing soul food treats like catfish bites, and fried okra, and sit in on a short jam session with the cast band.
Cost: $45 per person. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights only immediately following the show.
